Sofa 3d model for render a furnishing catalog

In the past years I delivered renders for many furnishing companies, especially in the field of furnishing. I developed a robust workflow to achieve 3d sofa models in a relative fast way without reducing the overall quality. Because of the high requests I had the need to find collaborators. I need to instruct them to make couch 3d models in an efficient way, that’s why I build this scene and 3d model to make my students learn the art of furnishing 3D design and interior render in Maya. The creation of this sofa has been made using mesh tools for Maya. Realistic renders in Arnold.

Bedroom Render with Wood Cabinet 3d and Furnishing

This is an example of a very common tecnique to make a 3d catalog for furnishing: the interaction of real photography and 3d models created inside Maya. In this case the client had a photograph of an old catalogue, I had to substitute the furinighing mantaining the old set and ambient. What I did is to model the new furnitures and then match them to fit the light and the mood of the picture. Made in Maya, rendered in Arnold.

This Chesterfield 3d model armchair is a good subject if you want to play with DOF inside Mental Ray rendering. Complex Mental Ray fur it was also used to make a plus to the overal appeal.
