Airplane Animation and 3D Render in Maya (Cessna 182 Skyliner II)

Posted Leave a commentPosted in Video Renders

This 3D video render animation has been made for the movie “Cortona 70s. Bischeri a mano armata. Il Manufatto”.

We needed a scene where you could see the flight of an airplane piloted by a somewhat crazy and inexperienced pilot to support the comic dialogue that takes place inside the plane.

I made the 3d model of the Cessna 182 skylane 2 airplane using Autodesk Maya, then I painted the materials to make it realistic as much as possible. Then I came back in Maya to animated the airplane in this kind of crazy way.

The environment consist of 3D VDB animated clouds for Maya, created with the help of Bifrost. The light setup are done inside Maya and rendered with Arnold Render.

Expansion Set on Green Screen for Fisher-Price TV Commercial

Posted Leave a commentPosted in Video Renders

This is a commercial video render made for TV advertise of the famous Thomas Obsessed Fisher-Price train toy. This spot has been a challenge due to the complexity of the structure and real camera tracking. I had to do a lot of 3D modelling in Maya, like all the trains 3D Models and the Railway King’s Cross Station 3D model. I did the entire job just looking reference pictures of the railway station, without measurements or blueprints. Dept of field and motion blur are made in 3d and rendered inside Maya using Arnold Render to achieve the realistic render look for the expansion set on green screen.

Commercial TV Spot for GEOMAG CLASSIC: Realistic Video Render in Maya

Posted Leave a commentPosted in Video Renders

I made this video render in Autodesk Maya using the default render engine (Arnold). It is a great tool to achieve realistic renders in Maya to match the studio footages made on the green screen. To make the expansion set I had to do some Maya modeling of the Geomag Toys and the Geomag World. The train also was modeled in Maya using polygonal subdivisions and glossy realistic materials.

This commercial represents a great collaboration with Mark TV & Communication where I created the ambient and locations for Geomag classic toys. Camera tracking, 3d models, renders and special effects are done almost entirely inside Autodesk Maya.

Sofa 3d model for render a furnishing catalog

In the past years I delivered renders for many furnishing companies, especially in the field of furnishing. I developed a robust workflow to achieve 3d sofa models in a relative fast way without reducing the overall quality. Because of the high requests I had the need to find collaborators. I need to instruct them to make couch 3d models in an efficient way, that’s why I build this scene and 3d model to make my students learn the art of furnishing 3D design and interior render in Maya. The creation of this sofa has been made using mesh tools for Maya. Realistic renders in Arnold.

Commercial Video Render on Green Screen: Bike Race in a Futuristic World

Posted Leave a commentPosted in Video Renders

This promo video, of a bike race using Magnetic Days’s Jarvis, has been filmed on green screen. Any the ambient were created with Autodesk Maya. The realistic renders have been made with the help of Arnold for Maya outputting an HD video render. The special effects and are done inside Maya using Mash Dynamics.

I’ve been inspired by the architectures and the style of legendary movies like Aliens by Ridley Scott to create the world around the athletes. At first, I created the geometry using hard-modeling techniques, then I created a dramatic light setup to wrap the actor in a futuristic and mysterious world.

3D Character Animation and Render in Maya: TRANSFORMER ROBOT

Posted Leave a commentPosted in Video Renders

During the study of a commercial advertise for a famous brand of toys we made the animation of this character: an animated transformer robot. During the working process the client choose to use another animation, but we decided to don’t delete it. So we setup a fast scene to make the action happen.

After the character animation in Maya I made the ambient and the setup to make the realistic render in Arnold. The animated transformer robot have been a fun project to do in Autodesk Maya.

Electronic High-Tech 3D Animation and Render in Maya

Posted Leave a commentPosted in Video Renders

A technical video at the service of high-tech industrial design for SECO (Arezzo, Italy). Once I got a 3d model of the product complete with all the electronic details, I moved on to the animation of the device inside the “electric” 3d world. The realization of the environment required the invention of a system of intersected planes, all animated and rendered inside Maya.

Arnold Render CPU & GPU Speed Benchmark

Posted 54 CommentsPosted in Render Speed Tests, Reviews and Comparisons

This is Arnold Render Benchmark is probably the most accurate CPU and GPU benchmark ever created. What makes this speed benchmark different from the others is the fact that the scene is build and optimized by a professional, with a precise goal in mind: stress every single core of the modern CPUs and GPUs. This benchmark will reflect your hardware performance realistically, not in a theoretical manner like the vast majority of benchmarks out of there. If you are interested to see how fast is your computer on 3D applications and rendering, just run the ultimate Arnold Render Benchmark for Maya and share your results!

NOTE: this benchmark has been created in cooperation with professional reviewers on famous websites like ExtremeTech.com and HWupgrade.it
